You Can Help
There are many ways YOU can assist HOPE in its mission to provide support and comfort to cancer patients in Saskatoon and area. For example:
- Volunteer to assist with a special events.
- Volunteer to provide the occasional bit of clerical office support.
- Support those who participate in the Annual HOPE Race for Recovery by making a monetary pledge to HOPE. (Tax receipts can be requested for donations of $10.00 or more.)
- Participate in the Annual HOPE Race for Recovery and gather pledges.
- Ask your business to sponsor the Annual HOPE Race for Recovery. Major event sponsors and product/service sponsors are an integral part of making the Race a success.
- Make a donation directly to HOPE Cancer Help Centre Inc.
- When a loved one dies, consider asking that gifts or tributes in lieu of flowers go to the HOPE Cancer Help Centre. Unlike other charitable cancer organizations, donations made to HOPE stay in Saskatoon and area.
- In Memoriam envelopes are available from the HOPE Centre and many funeral homes.
- Make regular contributions through your employer. Your employer may have a donor's choice charitable giving program that allows you to contribute to the charity of your choice through monthly deductions. Some employers will even match employee contributions up to a given amount.
- Make single or regular contributions specifying that your donation go to the HOPE Cancer Help Centre through the United Way in your community. The United Way will, for a small service fee, forward contributions to HOPE as specified by you.
- Leave a Legacy. Individuals who choose this option usually leave a bequest in a will, a gift annuity, or a life insurance gift to the HOPE Cancer Help Centre. There are requirements and may be limitations to leaving a legacy. We advise anyone wanting to leave a legacy, and to take advantage of the tax benefits, to consult with a qualified individual to ensure you understand limitations and requirements and understand all the options of leaving a legacy.
